Annotation
This paper provides a comparative analysis of East Asian and European ways and forms of regionalization. In East Asia economic integration develops through the market rather than through the establishment of formal institutions. Political integration is not priority for the development of the East Asian Community. The author concludes that East Asian regionalism is of a limited nature and cannot be considered as the formation of a new geopolitical centre of world policy.
Key words: regionalism, East Asian Community, economic integration, political regimes, actor of world policy.
