Annotation

The paper considers acute issues of basic socialization, socio-psychological rehabilitation and successful integration of orphans and abandoned children into society in substitute families. The author studies the issues of cross-cultural communication between children’s home inmates and children brought up in families. The author gives a sociological portrait of foster/adoptive parents and considers possible ways of transition to professional substitute families in the socio-educational space of the Khabarovsk Kray.
