Contacts: e-mail: buchek@mail.ru Annotation The article contains the description of the research results of ethnic auto- and hetero-stereotypes of the indigenous minorities of Kamchatka (Chukchy, Koryaks, Evens, Itelmens) as they are percieved by Kamchatka youth. The analysis of the stereotypic images of a North man gave the possibility to determine the degree of intercultural understanding, and mutual penetrability of psychological borders between the peoples inhabiting Kamchatka.
