Dokuchaev, Ilya Igorevich
– Doctor of Philosophy, Candidate of Cultural Studies, Professor, the Head of the Chair of Philosophy and Sociology, Prorector of Public Relations of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University.
He was born on August 28, 1971, in Leningrad. In 1993, he graduated with honors from the A.I. Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, the Faculty of Russian Philology and Culture. In 1996, he gradu-ated with honors from the Higher Religious-Philosophic School, the Faculty of Philosophic Hermeneutics. The theme of his Candidate’s dissertation was «Semiotical Analysis of Arts Culture» (1997), the theme of his Doctoral dissertation was «Communication within the History of Culture» (2003). He is the Chairman of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur department of Russian Culturological Society and Russian Sociological Associa-tion; the Chairman of the FE department of the World Organization of Phenomenological Organizations; a member of methodological Council on Cultural Studies of the RF Ministry of Education and Science; a member of three Dissertation Coucils: DÌ 218.003.02 on Philosophy (FESTU, Khabarovsk), on Cultural Studies and Russian History ÊÌ 212.092.02 (Êomsomolsk-on-Amur State Technical University, Komso-molsk-on-Amur), on philosophical studies DÌ 212.055.05 (Far Eastern State Techinical University, Vladi-vostok); a member of the Council of Methodological Association of Higher Educational Institutions of Rus-sia on Social Work and Foreign Affairs (Methodological Association on PR and Advertising); a member of editorial boards of journals: «Lichnost, kultura, obshchestvo (Person. Culture. Society» and «Voprosy kulturologii (Culturological Issues)». His academic interests include phenomenology, axiology, semiotics, theory of communication. He is the author of more than 80 research and research-methodological papers in Russian, English and German.

Annotation
The article considers the key characteristics of values as the most important kind of artifacts of human culture: their subjectivity, psychic integrity, positivity, spiritual way of existence, and religious and political forms of expression. The author defines the place of values within culture. Values generate models and integrities of culture. Meaning of human life lies in the center of each cultural model. The article considers the problem of ontogenesis and phylogenesis of values.
