Annotation
The paper deals with the encoding of foreign names in English. Numerous examples from different sources illustrate the ideas of the article. The most reliable way to achieve efficient cross-cultural communication is through the use of borrowed words. The variability of transliteration systems hinders understanding. That is why the development of standard and unified system of transliteration code is the priority of modern linguistics.
