Annotation
The paper studies the conceptual grounds of 2001-2004 dress collections by a vanguard London designer A. Veremchuk, especially topical from the point of view of non-trivial symbolical modeling of aesthetic objects. It reveals that the collections of the trading company "Arkadius" are characterized by scandalousness as well as by high metaphoricalness of costume images that makes them a worthy object for art criticism research. Symbol in modern costume serves to mark social problems, e.g. "the aesthetics of suffering" in the suit of "Christ"; the correlation of female genetalia with a nest where birds raise their nestlings; aesthetization of ugliness in sur-monsters by "Arkadius". Viruses of distortion and pornography determine the spectrum of semantic fields of a vanguard costume of the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st centuries. The paper also interprets the symbolical language of costumes in the context of cultural traditions.
