Annotation
This article deals with the social and political heritage of Smenovekhovstvo within a wider context of search for a modern model of development of the Russian society. It is underlined that Russia belongs to a special Eurasian civilization. That is why the trend to follow the Western model of development is not in accordance with the peculiarities of the Russian state. The author thinks that using the Smenovekhovstvo heritage is a a vivid example of the objective understanding of the issue of consolidating all social and political forces and citizens of Russia. The importance of Smenovekhovstvo is in acceptance and justification of the Russian revolution, an adequate understanding of the Soviet period as a really unique epoch, when Russia made its first brave attempt to offer the world its own civilization project, alternative to that of the West.
