The article is devoted to the historiographical analysis of the 1990-s home research literature reviewing the history of educational development of the Far Eastern aboriginal population, which is a part of northern ethnic groups of Russia. The author points to the specificity of the description by home investigators in the given period of time and descusses the post-Soviet approaches to the estimation of the history of education development of the Russian Far Eastern indigenous population.
