Annotation
The article is dedicated to the analysis of essential problems of modern culture. On the material of two outstanding works of the modern cinema (the Russian movie "The Sky in Diamonds", 1998 by V. Pichul and the Danish movie "Dogvill" 2003, Lars von Trier) an attempt of consideration of the valuable consciousness of the modern person is taken.
The analysis draws to the conclusion that such basic cultural values as freedom and the right to make a choice, the personal re-sponsibility, the ability to love and self-sacrifice, belief in the ideal, with all the dramatic nature of the human existence are inherited and re-interpreted in the works of modern artists (in this case - cinematographers)*.
